Braces and clear aligners
Braces use brackets and wires to apply controlled forces to teeth. Clear aligners use a sequence of removable trays. These approaches are not interchangeable for every case; your dentist can discuss suitability, treatment availability, and whether a referral is recommended.
During and after treatment
Treatment requires regular reviews and careful oral hygiene. The time needed depends on the individual plan and how well treatment instructions are followed. Retainers are generally needed after active treatment to help maintain tooth position.
